Let me begin by introducing myself, I am Skylar, the primary makeup artist at Skylar Jemma Makeup Artistry. 

I completed my professional makeup artistry qualification at KOHL ACADEMY in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2019. I am an internationally accredited professional makeup artist through the market-leading awarding organisation, VTCT United Kingdom.

I discovered my love for makeup when I was around 7 years old, I was a dancer and ballerina – I just absolutely LOVED the aspect of makeup when preparing for competitions and shows. My passion for makeup really began to grow when I was a teenager, as at that time I was modeling in the South African fashion industry.

I went on to study Interior Architecture after school, although during my first year of work I decided to pursue my ULTIMATE PASSION in MAKEUP ARTISTRY. While juggling a full time job in the building industry, I completed my qualification in makeup artistry part-time. I graduated from KOHL ACADEMY with numerous awards, the biggest accomplishment to me was STUDENT OF THE YEAR.

I have been specialising in the bridal and photographic makeup industry now for 3 years!
